with Police

A STEM/STEAM program that brings police officers and community youth together through the science, engineering, and competition of RC monster truck racing.

About the Program

What Is ICRCP?

Inner-City Radio-Controlled with Police (ICRCP) is a STEM-based youth mentorship program that uses competitive radio-controlled racing to build stronger relationships between children and police officers from the communities they serve. Through hands-on learning, teamwork, discipline, communication, mentoring, and friendly competition, ICRCP creates a positive environment where trust is built, skills are developed, and young people are encouraged to grow with confidence and purpose.

Officers remain consistent throughout the 9-week program to establish and maintain personal connections with youth — building trust that extends beyond the track.

STEM/STEAM Learning

Participants learn to calculate travel, speed, distance, time, gravity, and weight. Reverse-engineering trucks teaches electronics, mechanical systems, and applied mathematics.

Competitive Racing

Side-by-side bracket track racing where youth compete for accumulated points. Vehicles are painted to replicate the top 10–20 Monster Jam trucks on the circuit.

The Curriculum

The Training & Racing Experience

A 9-week course hosted throughout the year. 15–30 participants at any given time, with Police Officers as active team members every week.

📐 Physics & Math in Action

Youth calculate speed, distance, gravity, and weight in real time — turning the track into a classroom where the lessons are impossible to forget.

🔧 Reverse Engineering

Participants drive, repair, and train with technologically advanced RC trucks. Teams are responsible for maintaining and repairing their assigned vehicles.

🏆 Bracket Racing

Each racing event features youth drivers competing head-to-head. Driver skill, technique, and course-adjustment ability determine the outcome — not luck.

🎨 Truck Sponsorship & Art

RC trucks are painted to replicate real Monster Jam vehicles. Youth learn about each truck's history and the professional drivers behind them.

🎟️ Monster Jam Field Trip

All participants are taken annually to see the actual Monster Trucks race live — connecting their classroom experience to the real world.

👮 Police as Teammates

Officers are not observers — they are active team members. The same officer stays with the same team for all 9 weeks, building real relationships.

Our vision is to secure a dedicated, standalone facility in Chicago or a nearby suburb that serves as the permanent home of Inner-City RCP. This space would bring together youth from across the city and surrounding communities, along with police officers from their respective areas, for competitive STEM-based racing, mentorship, fellowship, and positive community engagement. Our Story

The Cobra Back Foundation (CBF) is a Chicago-founded nonprofit expanding its reach nationwide by filling critical voids in communities through education, mentorship, hands-on experiences, and practical Life Lessons courses for youth, adults, and families. Founded by E. Dixon, a longtime civil servant and community leader, CBF was built on a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and meaningful community engagement. CBF advances its mission through innovative programs such as Inner-City RCP, a competitive STEM-based radio-controlled racing initiative that connects youth, police officers, mentors, and community members through teamwork, discipline, problem-solving, and positive engagement. Beyond youth programming, CBF offers Life Lessons courses designed to equip individuals and families with real-world knowledge and confidence. Course topics include Financial Literacy, De-Escalation, Home Buying, Phishing & Scam Awareness, Credit Building, Safety in Compliance, and Influence of Groups — all designed to help people make informed decisions and navigate everyday challenges. Through education, mentorship, community partnerships, and meaningful engagement, CBF empowers individuals, strengthens families, promotes safer communities, and builds bridges between law enforcement and the people they serve. RELEASE OF LIABILITY — COBRA BACK FOUNDATION AND/OR CITY OF CHICAGO

INNER-CITY RCP / ANY PROGRAM IMPLEMENTED BY THE COBRA BACK FOUNDATION In consideration for my child being given the opportunity to participate in the above-listed program, I hereby release and hold harmless, either, the Cobra Back Foundation, the City of Chicago, its agents, representatives, and employees from any liability that may arise in connection with the participation in the program including, but not limited to potential liability from accidents, injuries or death, resulting from equipment provided by, either, the Cobra Back Foundation, the City of Chicago, its departments, agents, or employees in connection with the program and activities. I understand that there may be certain risks and exposure to situations potentially capable of causing accidental injury which my child and I are willing to accept in order to voluntarily and/or participate in the program.

This RELEASE OF LIABILITY shall apply to any such injury, accident, or liability, whether or not there is negligence on the part of the City of Chicago, its officers, agents, or employees.
